Customer reviews:

I am using this chainsaw for more than 2 years now and within that period, I utilize it to cut fallen tree limbs with varying diameter, the largest is 14 inches. If I have to go further my extension cord to cut, I use my Echo CS-370 chainsaw. I have no hard time dealing with this 16” Homelite electric saw because its controls and adjustments are easy to use and tool-less. The saw is also lightweight, so it is not causing me too much stress compared with gas-operated chainsaws, which are really heavy. To my surprise, this Homelite chainsaw works well in cutting through hardwoods, though in low volume.

Though this chainsaw also available in 14”, the 16” will be much more useful and appropriate for the homeowner’s usual cutting jobs. Since it’s corded, you always have to watch yourself not being tangled up to be safe. Although its automatic chain lubricator comes handy, it does not provide a control. Sometimes it gives me messy work. Putting that aside, this is a good quality saw at a fair price.

On a review, someone complained about the adjustment bar being plastic. Well, this is true for older versions of this chainsaw, I must say. Newer versions are now made of metal. The manufacturers obviously realized that this is not something they can compromise to minimize production cost, so they enhanced it. I have no issues regarding the chain dropping, at least during my first year of usage. But eventually had it and I just have to reset the chain. It was quite an inconvenience for me. One more thing, this model’s replacement parts are expensive. You can even buy a new one with the price. The chain is around $15, bar $30, etc.

I suggest you use this homelite chainsaw for its recommended use such as light-medium tasks and it will save you from disappointment. If you are into hardcore cutting jobs, then this chainsaw is not the right choice. I am happy with this saw and will certainly buy another one if I have to.
