I was going through the reviews online and then purchased this one by mistake. I plan to buy the chainsaw with the higher rating, so when this came to our house, I said to myself this isn’t the chainsaw I wanted. Before opening the package, I run through the reviews again. There were really issues about it such as it is troublesome to start and chain is falling off (quite creepy and dangerous). I have never owned a chainsaw before so I’m a rookie for that matter. However, I do have common sense and not to say, resourceful – I research things. If you’re thinking I’m off for a lumberjack job – No.
When other people say about the chain falling off, what they mean is that the new chain stretches and eventually falls off. What I did was cut a fallen tree for few minutes. When the chain falls, I used the tool that came with this product. The easy adjust tool provided quick adjustment and I was able to cut again. Came across the problem several times but I think this is common for new chain.
To sum it up, just 2 problems:
One, the chain keeps on becoming loose – maybe it’s about adjustment or chain wearing. Not sure though. Second, I found out that the chain lube system drips oils. It’s messy. When I put the chainsaw on the table to adjust the chain or on the ground, the oil just freely drips.

Craftsman’s 10” cordless chainsaw is a very simple tool to use. Being a part of the C3 platform, it has a 19.2 volt battery that provides you the power you need while giving you a lightweight and compact feel. This Craftsman chainsaw is highly recommended for light cutting jobs. It is handy yet needs a fully-charged battery to keep you on the go. It consumes NiCads pretty quickly though. I would suggest you use Lithium-ion batteries if you use this tool since it would last longer and gives the chain powered-up performance providing you undisturbed work. The oil delivery system for the chain works well but is a hassle sometimes. It is really lightweight and certainly befitting for small cutting jobs.
